The Council has passed a motion to ask for a vote of the congregation that would authorize the Messiah Church Council to negotiate the sale of the historic Church. This vote would happen at a special congregational meeting. The task force that has been studying all options for the historic church would present their findings, in order to help you make your decision. Watch for notices on when this meeting is scheduled.
Currently, there are no interested buyers in the historic Church property. If the congregation passed such a resolution for the council to look for buyers, any actual sale would require another special congregational meeting and a vote.
The Council is pleased to announce that an employment contract was offered to Meshell Mcmillan for a part-time Youth Minister position which began on December 16, 2016. Meshell is a daughter of the Church, so we are especially excited to have her back with us. Meshell has already worked with our Praise Dancers at the youth-led Christmas service on December 18. Nice job, Meshell!
Tom Gustafson is no longer our Minister of Youth and Family, since he is now our full-time Pastoral Intern.
Blessings for 2017!
